Like fish, birds can see colors in the ultraviolet spectrum that humans can't. They easily detect UV reflections. If you want to attract wild birds to bring in them in close for intimate watching or to photograph them, I highly recommend you purchase some "Fool-A-Wildbird" to have the experience of a lifetime!
